You’ve probably heard the phrase: “A well-prepared meeting ends on time”? The team meeting is increasingly discussed, as it is often the case that no concrete objectives have been announced at the end of the day.

A problem arises, it needs to be addressed, a meeting is scheduled. During the meeting, managers express dissatisfaction or update an agenda. Employees listen, saying very little. After a while, the managers let them go, without any concrete objectives. The result? No action plan has been drawn up.

However, team meetings are a fundamental part of corporate communication. Here are a few tips for running efficient team meetings;

  • Send the meeting agenda to all participants as soon as possible;
  • Give participants time before the meeting to familiarize themselves with the agenda;
  • Plan an agenda of 3 items maximum and respect the time limits for each item;
  • Set aside time for employees to express themselves freely;
  • If some graphics are to be projected, keep them clear and simple;
  • Take the time to assign tasks to each person, with deadlines to be met, to encourage productivity.

In any case, use team meetings sparingly: they should be a stimulating moment.
